God gives each and every one of us the opportunity to be a part of His church.  God has
chosen you!  Did you ever think about that?  As we look back on Pentecost, at the
beginnings of the church, we see the excitement and unspeakable joy of that day when the
Apostle Peter gave one of the best sermons ever recorded.  Can people see that same joy
in us when we preach the gospel?  In today's text, we find three things we can learn for the
church of today as we reflect on the birth day of the church.

What's the real job of every Christian?  In today's lesson from the Parable of the Sower, we
learn that not everyone is called to water, fertilize, or harvest the crop.  But every believer is
called to sow good seed.  Sometimes the seed will fall on bad soil.  Sometimes the message
will never take root.  But we can't be discouraged.  It's up to us to spread the seed.  It's up to
God to bring the increase.  So are you ready to start planting?
