Ode to My Father Pastor Rex Cain E-mail Rex Church of the Open Bible Bedford, Ohio The United States leads the world in fatherless homes. The statistics are distressing. It's not always easy being a parent. Parenting is a time-consuming, energy-draining, challenging, 24/7 profession. And you never stop being a parent no matter how old your children get. Every parent desires for their children to admire and respect them and wants their affection. In today's message, we look at the life of Joseph, a father personally chosen by God to raise Jesus. As we examine the text, we find a righteous role model who followed God's leading and obeyed God's direction. He lived out the life of faith that Jesus would witness each day. And we're reminded that our faithfulness is always being watched too. Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Matthew 1; Ephesians 5; 1 Timothy 5
Near to the Father's Heart Pastor Michael Brown E-mail Michael Glad Tidings Church of God Fonthill, Ontario, Canada Fatherhood can be very demanding and very rewarding. How we view fatherhood largely depends on the type of father we have. But our Heavenly Father is the perfect role model. He shows us how to love with a divine love - an "agape" love. It's unconditional. But it also includes listening and obeying Him. And when fathers make Jesus and his Father their abode, then our homes will be better off too. John 14:21,23; 1 John 4:8,16,10; Matt. 22:40; Exo. 20:12; Prov. 4:1; Heb. 10:22; 1 Cor. 6:18
Our Father God Vince Finnegan Living Hope Community Church Latham, New York God is the Creator of time and space and everything there is. He's the possessor of the whole heavens and earth. He's in charge of it all. We can't even fathom His greatness. He's beyond our description. He's perfect. He's Almighty. And yet, He takes the time to listen to us. He's concerned about us. And He calls Himself our Father.
