WISDOM AND POWER
magazine
Today's programming is the thirty-eighth edition of "Back to the Future," our Sunday broadcasts
featuring messages recorded throughout the history of the Church of God.  Many of these speakers
and messages have not been heard for many decades.  Some of these messages have never publicly
been heard again at all.  You may find yourself amazed at how relevant these words still are for us
living today.  We hope you enjoy our step back in time, with messages focusing on the age to come.

If you enjoy the messages
you hear daily on
COGCAST, you may also
be interested in some of
these books, literature, and
other media available.

A Real Bargain   1952
J.R. LeCrone
Everyone wants a bargain.  No one wants to pay full price.  We all want a good deal.  And God
has given us the perfect deal, and His Son has paid the ultimate price for us.  We're given the
opportunity to obtain everlasting life.  And God always keeps his promises.  He offers us the very
best.  But the Lord refuses to bargain when it comes to His requirements.  What cost are you
willing to pay?  Are you waiting for God to make a better offer?

Prisoners of Ignorance    8/15/1973
Dennis Baldwin
If it were not for the correct and precise understanding of facts, how far would we be today?
People throughout the ages have died from wrong information.  In religious matters, it is no
different.  The truth is a requirement and a necessity.  And it's up to us to present our neighbors
the truth that will save them from their eternal consequence.  What are we doing to break the
world from the bars and shackles of their prison of ignorance?

The Purpose of Christian Education    8/15/1974
John Lewis
We're surrounded by an ever-increasing world of knowledge.  But is the wisdom of the world
enough to save it from itself?  We look around and see a world that's falling apart.  What do we
do?  It's up to us to develop the gifts and abilities God has given us so that we can approach life
and the world fully equipped.  It's no time to be lukewarm.  The world is in crisis.  They need to
find the meaning that can only be found in Christ.  And it's up to us to tell them the good news.
Hosea 4:6; Proverbs 1:7
