OBC "Gospelettes"
Praise Ye the Lord

A special message included with this album
"Praise Ye the Lord" is the theme of this record.  We have so
much for which to praise the Lord--His many daily blessings,
His mercy, His forgiveness, His wonderful love in giving Christ
to die for us, His watchcare and protection.  "Great is the
Lord, and greatly to be praised."  (Psalms 145:3a)

The Gospelettes, Rachel Krogh, Janet Turner, and Martha
Burnett, are all students of Oregon Bible College.  Martha, who
hails from Tipp City, Ohio, sings soprano; Rachel from Grand
Rapids, sings the second soprano, while Janet a native of
Oregon, Illinois is "anchor man" singing alto.

OBC was begun for the sole purpose of training workers for the
Lord's vineyard.  One of OBC's biggest contributions to the
Conference church congregations, is the OBC Team Trip.  The
Gospelettes have been privileged to take part in many of these
teams, and for that reason, many of the songs on this record
are well known to the people of the Church of God.  Most of the
songs have been arranged by the girls in the trio.

Much credit and heart-felt thanks goes to Mrs. Louise Lapp,
Director of Music at OBC, and to her daughter, Elaine, a
graduate of Wheaton College.  Both women spent many hours
working with the Gospelettes and in rehearsal.  Mrs. Lapp
accompanied on the Hammond Organ, and Elaine skillfully filled
in on the piano.  An exception was made when the accompianists
switched instruments to record "Burdens Are Lifted at Calvary."
Both instruments were used on all songs except "Little
David"--Mrs. Lapp at Piano--, and "De Love Come a Tricklin'"
and "Goodbye, God Bless You" which were sung by the trio
without instrument to get the effect of close harmony.

"We were thankful for the opportunity to make this record, and
we pray that it will be a blessing to all those who listen.
The field for recordings is large, and we feel grateful to have
such a small part in this important ministry."
