| STATEMENT OF BASIC BELIEFS WE BELIEVE it is possible for people with different backgrounds, experiences, and religious training to be joined together by the common goal of seeking to understand,embrace, and spread the will of GOD. We encourage extensive individual and group study in order to evaluate and reaffirm Biblical teachings. We understand and acknowledge that differing opinions and interpretations are likely to flourish in this environment. WE BELIEVE it is possible to lovingly disagree and enjoy theological debate about certain subjects or the finite interpretation of a given text, yet we adopt the following beliefs as so basic and fundamental that they are the foundation of our fellowship: WE BELIEVE that there is ONE GOD that created all things (Genesis 1). WE BELIEVE that the BIBLE is the inspired word of GOD (2 Tim. 3:16). WE BELIEVE GOD had and has a PLAN for man and the universe that began before creation, and will be completed with the establishment of GOD’S KINGDOM ON THE EARTH. WE BELIEVE that JESUS CHRIST, the SON of GOD, was sacrificed to reconcile sinful man to righteous GOD. WE BELIEVE Christ was crucified and died, resurrected by GOD, and will return to earth to rule the soon coming kingdom of GOD. WE BELIEVE GOD has given ALL judgment of man to JESUS (John 5:22); therefore we leave judgment of mankind in general and individuals in particular to our Lord JESUS CHRIST. WE BELIEVE that man will receive the GIFT OF IMMORTALITY at Christ’s coming (Romans 2:7; 1 Cor. 15:51-58). WE BELIEVE in the two great commandments (Mark 2:30, 31) – Christians should LOVE GOD and their NEIGHBOR. WE BELIEVE GOD desired that ALL mankind should be saved (1 Tim. 2:4) and our commission is to preach (teach) the Gospel by word and example. FINALLY, WE BELIEVE the Bible teaches much, much more, which can best be examined and learned in a fellowship of LOVE and UNITY - we invite everyone to join us in our fellowship of JOY! |
