Spared by the Blood of the Lamb

When we come to the time of Communion, we often think back to the last supper that Jesus shared with his
disciples and the events surrounding his final days.  Often, we also reflect on the Passover in Egypt when the
firstborn was killed throughout the land except for those who were spared by the blood of a sacrificial lamb.  The
same process still goes on today.  Jesus, our Lamb, God's only son, has been sacrificed for us.  His blood has
been given to spare us.  But time is running out.  Where is the urgency?  Are you ready?

Salvation is No Accident

Sometimes hearing the same message over and over again can seem monotonous.  But the Apostle Peter never
got tired of telling the same old story.  In his first letter, he reiterates what he has already preached and what his
listeners have already heard.  Salvation was not an afterthought.  God has negotiated our release and purchased
our freedom through Christ!  That's a message worth repeating.  Redemption is for us.  Resurrection is for us.  
Yet why are so many refusing their own rescue?
