Back to the Future Program # 76


We're glad you've stopped by to listen to some of the music, messages, and speakers from the
Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith.  Today is the seventy-fourth edition of "Back to the Future,"
our Sunday broadcasts featuring messages and music recorded throughout the history of the Church
of God.  Many of these speakers and messages have not been heard for many decades.  Some of
these messages have never publicly been heard again at all.  As you listen, we hope you  will enjoy
our step back in time, with messages focusing on the age to come.
Our Charge

In the Apostle Paul's final days, he gave his son in the faith, Timothy, a charge to keep.  In Paul's words, he
wrote to instruct Timothy of his charge in his ministry.  Although we're not all pastors, we have the same
commission.  It's not optional. And in Paul's writings, we discover five imperatives for us.

The Last Days

This age in which we are living bears a new meaning on "the last days."  In the Church of God, we have a
challenge in these words.  There is a terrible urgency issued to the Church today.  What is our purpose?  What
is our influence in the world?  What is our goal in these changing times?  John tells us the way to God's glory.

The Gift of the Giver

During this season, it's common for us to gather and exchange gifts.  And we all can probably quote John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish
but have everlasting life."  But what's so important about the verse?  Think about it.  God gave.  He gave His
Son.  He gave His son for us.  He exchanged His Son for us!  And that was the world's greatest gift!
