Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.   Romans 10:17
Celebration and Clarification on the Road to Jerusalem
Pastor Steve Taylor   E-mail Steve
Lakeshore Bible Church  Tempe, Arizona   Check out Steve's blog
Perhaps no one has been more misunderstood than Jesus.  Despite his best efforts to try to
explain the plan and the will of God, those that followed him did not grasp the truth.  His
followers had certain expectations they were anticipating, and they were about to be very
disappointed.  In today's message, we examine an important parable that Jesus tells as they
paused on their way to the city.  And as we travel the road with Jesus, are we listening too?

American Idols: Putting a Lid on Materialism 1 Timothy 6:6-10
Pastor Wally Winner
E-mail Wally
Joy Fellowship Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith  Piedmont, South Carolina
In this new series on "American idols," we begin by looking at the idol of materialism.  We
love money.  We love cars.  We love stuff.  However, if we don't hold our materialistic
attitudes in check, they can destroy us.  A materialistic mind set causes you to think you
never have enough.  It causes you to make bad decisions.  It will make you think primarily of
yourself and causes a lot of pain.  The way to destroy this idol is through spiritual
contentment.  And the more content we become in God, and with what we have, the more
God can trust us with abundance.
Newness of Life in Christ
Pastor Mike Montgomery
Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith    Pelzer, South Carolina
In today's message, we look at the story of the first miracle in the public ministry of Jesus.  He
brought a new creation out of the old jars of water.  And when we enter Christ, we obtain a
newness of life.  We are a new creation delivered from the power and the penalty of sin and
living with the peace of God.  We receive a pardoned life and will receive a promised life
ahead.  It's a "super-abundance" of life.
