Those who believe and follow after Jesus Christ as a disciple are a part of the family of God.
And there is a family duty to discover a great treasure that has grown throughout the ages
and moved across the continents.  In the parables Jesus told, we find the clues revealed to
unlock the secrets of the Kingdom of God.  Are you a treasure hunter?

American Idols: The Idol of So-Called Success

Continuing in our search for American Idols, we examine the idol of success, one of the
biggest idols in our cultural worship center.  It can be easy to have an unhealthy approach
to our careers.  But in today's message, we learn how to destroy this idol and develop a
missional mindset with our eyes on eternal things.

Why do our parents make rules for us?  Because they love us, of course.  God's commands
are the same way.  And in today's text, Jesus gives his disciples a new command.  It's not an
option that we love one another. It's not a suggestion.  We are obligated.  It's an order.  The
King has commanded us.  And our ability to love is derived from God through Jesus Christ.
We love because he first loved us.  Our ability to live out our Christian life is impaired unless
we know where true love comes from.  And we give our best witness to the world when we are
loving people.
John 13:34,35
